Obtain at least 2 to 3 small dinosaur plastic toys. |

To make the mold, fill a container or a shallow bowl with modeling clay until it is about an inch thick. It doesn 't matter if you use different colors of modeling clay together. |

Choose 1 to 3 dinosaur toys that can fit inside the modeling clay mold. Grease the toys with petroleum jelly. |

Place one dinosaur toy in a horizontal position on the modeling clay and press until it is buried halfway into the clay. This step may need adult assistance especially if the clay is quite hard. |

Press 1 or 2 more dinosaur toys, depending on how many more your mold can accommodate. |

Remove the toys gently from the modeling clay. Notice that the dinosaur's shape and body details have been impressed on the clay. |

Make a Plaster of Paris mixture following the package instructions of your particular brand of Plaster of Paris powder. Typically the ratio used for a Plaster of Paris mixture is 2 parts Plaster of Paris powder to 1 part water. You can also use our step-by-step guide for mixing Plaster of Paris. |

Pour or spoon in the Plaster of Paris mixture onto the dinosaur impressions. |

Let the Plaster of Paris set completely. Typically it will set in 20 to 30 minutes. For best results, leave the sculptures to set overnight. |

Carefully remove the modeling clay from its container. Coax out the Plaster of Paris dinosaur sculptures from the modeling clay. |

11. |
Paint the dinosaur figures with poster paint. |
 |
12. |
Let the paint dry completely. |
