Paper Spiral Snake
|Craft a classic paper spiral snake in a few simple steps.|
|1.||On a sheet of paper, start drawing a spiral beginning at the center going outwards.|
|2.||Continue drawing the spiral until you have made about 4 or more loops. Note that you don't really need to make a very perfect spiral.|
|3.||To transform the spiral into a snake, draw a snake's head at the outer end of the spiral.
*If you prefer to use a printable template instead of drawing your own spiral snake (Steps 1 to 3), you can print out this spiral snake template.
|4.||Draw a pair of eyes and a forked tongue.|
|5.||Before coloring in the snake, you can emphasize the snake's outline with a marker. This would make cutting a lot easier later on.|
|6.||Draw patterns and color the snake. You can mimic patterns from real snakes or make up your own snake designs.|
|7.||Once done coloring, cut out the snake.|
|8.||Color the bottom side of the snake if you like.|
|9.||Finally, cut along the spiral line.|
|10.||Continue cutting until you've reached the inner tip of the spiral.|
|11.||You may attach a string either on the head or on the tail and hang the snake to create a springy snake mobile.|
You can also coil the snake around a pole or around a tree branch just like a real snake!
