Moisten sand prior to use. |

Fill a sand bucket with sand. Compact the sand by pressing with a small shovel. |

Cut a piece of Styrofoam board or any sturdy board for your sand cake's base. Cover the bucket with this board base. |

Turn the bucket upside down while holding the board in place. |

Gently remove the bucket to reveal your sand cake. |

Decorate with shaving foam to make the "icing". |

Sprinkle the shaving foam with small beads. |

Brown or pink crayon shavings would look like chocolate or strawberry flakes. |

If an adult is around to supervise, you can put and light up some birthday candles to complete a pretend birthday. |
