1. |
Find a pair of identical-sized paper plates. Using the tip of a pencil, carefully punch a pair of holes at the center of each plate. The distance between the holes should be about 3 inches or approximately as wide as the palm of your hand. |
2. |
Paint both sides of the paper plates with gold poster paint or acrylic paint. |
3. |
Allow the paint to dry. |
4. |
For the cymbals' straps, obtain a pair of gold pipe cleaner or cut a pair of 10-inch long gold ribbon strips. |
5. |
Position a cymbal with the bottom side facing up. Insert the ends of a ribbon or pipe cleaner into the pair of holes on the cymbal. |
6. |
Tie the ends of the ribbon or pipe cleaner on the flip side of the paper plate. |
7. |
Try holding the cymbal through the strap. Adjust the length of the strap for a comfortable fit. |
8. |
Repeat Steps 5 to 7 for the second cymbal. |
9. |
On each cymbal's flip side, use hot glue gun to attach small coins or metal washers all around the edges of the plate. |
10. |
When the glue dries, try banging the cymbals together to make some noise. Now and then some coins may fall off but that's okay. You can always glue them back later. Enjoy! |
