Think about what image or character you'd like for your pencil topper. Draw your designs on craft foam. If you need patterns, we have the following printables:
2. |
Cut out then glue the craft foam pieces together. |
3. |
Punch a small hole through the center of your craft foam character using the tip of a pencil. Push the pencil a bit more so that a little part of the pencil's body passes through the hole. |
4. |
Remove the pencil. If your pencil topper needs a face, glue on a pair of wiggle eyes. |
5. |
Draw the mouth and other details with colored markers or crayons. |
6. |
Glue on other details if you like. |
7. |
Insert the upper end of a pencil through the hole on your pencil topper. Around ¼ inch of the pencil's eraser tip or top end should poke through the hole, creating the nose for your pencil topper character. |
8. |
You may cover the top end of the pencil with a small ball of self-hardening clay to create a funny nose. |
9. |
This is a quick and easy craft so decorate as many pencils as you like. |
