Yellow Handprint Sun

Make a bright and shiny yellow sun with your handprints.

Materials Needed

	1.	Draw and cut a circle on white construction paper.
	2.	Paint the circle with yellow poster paint. You can use any painting tool- a paint brush, roller brush or sponge brush. You can even use your hands!
	3.	Sprinkle gold glitter while the paint is still wet. Set the circle aside to dry.
	4.	Paint your palm with yellow paint.
	5.	Press your painted hand onto orange construction paper.
	6.	Repeat Steps 4 and 5 until you make about 5 to 6 yellow hand prints. Let the paint dry for several minutes.
	7.	Cut around all the hand prints.
	8.	Tape the hand prints around the back of the painted circle to make the sun's rays.
	9.	Draw a face on your sun.

Instead of buying a sponge brush or using a new sponge, try recycling an old kitchen or bath sponge for this art craft. Just make sure to remove the dirt and oil from the sponge by cleaning it well.
