Fireman on the Go

Safety Guidelines

  • Always let your child use child-safe scissors.

Steps

Step 1 Fireman on the Go 1. Cut red construction paper for the background.
Step 2 Fireman on the Go 2. To make a fiery background, prepare orange and yellow paint on shallow plates. Dip your sponge brush (or kitchen sponge) in yellow paint and sponge paint the top one-third portion of your paper.
Step 3 Fireman on the Go 3. Do the same using orange paint on the middle portion of the paper.
Step 4 Fireman on the Go 4. Paint some grass or a road at the bottom. Set the picture aside to dry.
Step 5 Fireman on the Go 5. Cut various shapes from craft foam or construction paper to make the fire truck- a rectangle for the body, a front cabin, a window, and 2 circles for the wheels.
Step 6 Fireman on the Go 6. Assemble the shapes into a fire truck by gluing them onto the paper.
Step 7 Fireman on the Go 7. Make a ladder by cutting 2 long pieces (around 6 inches) and several short pieces (1 to 1.5 inches) of colored drinking straws. Assemble and glue them on top of the fire truck.
Step 8 Fireman on the Go 8. Draw your own fireman or print out this fireman template.
Step 9 Fireman on the Go 9. Color and cut out the fireman.
Step 10 Fireman on the Go 10. Position and glue your fireman onto the picture. You may choose to put him on the ladder, behind the fire truck, or anywhere else in the picture.
Step 11 Fireman on the Go 11. Cut a length of thick string or cord for the fire truck's water hose. Glue one end of the string at the back end of the fire truck and going towards the fireman figure. Position the hose in such a way that the fireman is holding it with his hands.
Step 12 Fireman on the Go 12. Cut and glue a short darker colored string at the tip of the water hose.
Step 13 Fireman on the Go 13. Paint some water coming from the hose.
Step 14 Fireman on the Go 14. Let the picture dry completely.
