Mr. Happy and Mr. Sad Clown craft

Materials

  • Paper plates
  • Craft sticks
  • Crepe paper
  • Pompoms
  • Markers or crayons
  • Glue gun or white glue
  • Scissors
  • Scotch tape

Steps

Step 1 Mr. Happy and Mr. Sad Clown Ask for an adult's help1. To make the puppet's handle, obtain a large craft stick or glue two small craft sticks end-to-end.
Step 2 Mr. Happy and Mr. Sad Clown 2. Paint the lower half of the handle.
Step 3 Mr. Happy and Mr. Sad Clown 3. You may finger paint some dots or stripes if you like.
Step 4 Mr. Happy and Mr. Sad Clown 4. Prepare two small paper plates to make the clown faces. Draw a happy faced clown on one plate and a sad faced clown on the other plate. Don't draw any noses yet.
Step 5 Mr. Happy and Mr. Sad Clown 5. Glue a pompom on each clown face to make a funny nose.
Step 6 Mr. Happy and Mr. Sad Clown 6. Cut strips of crepe paper and crumple each strip into a ball.
Step 7 Mr. Happy and Mr. Sad Clown 7. Create hair for the clowns by gluing the crepe paper balls along the top of each paper plate face.
Step 8 Mr. Happy and Mr. Sad Clown Ask for an adult's help8. Use glue gun or white glue to attach the handle at the back of one clown face.
Step 9 Mr. Happy and Mr. Sad Clown Ask for an adult's help9. Apply glue on the other side of the handle and position the other clown face in place. Remember to align the two clown faces along the edges.
Step 10 Mr. Happy and Mr. Sad Clown 10. Let the glue dry before using your happy/sad clown puppet.
