Materials

  • Salt dough (flour, salt, water)
  • Drinking straws
  • Construction paper
  • Beads
  • Wiggle eyes
  • Scissors
  • Satin ribbon or fabric scraps
  • Glue
  • Pipe cleaner (optional)

Steps

Step 1 Salt Dough Snowman Ask for an adult's help1. Prepare uncolored salt dough. Make sure that your dough is not soft, otherwise your snowman will "melt" or sag.
Step 2 Salt Dough Snowman 2. Make two salt dough balls, one smaller than the other, for the snowman's head and body.
Step 3 Salt Dough Snowman 3. Cut a piece of drinking straw an inch longer than the snowman's body. Insert the straw from the top portion of the snowman's body and push it all the way down until only an inch or so sticks out.
