1. |
Print out this template for the ghost trick-or-treat bucket. We will use these template pieces to draw the ready-to-fold bucket pattern.
You may also draw your own bucket pattern by referring to Step 5. |
2. |
Cut out the template pieces. |
3. |
Make sure you have a large piece of white construction paper at least 18 in. x 15 in. in size. Trace the square three times to make a straight row of squares at the center of the construction paper. |
4. |
Trace the square with flaps on both sides of the middle square. |
5. |
Trace the ghost arm template twice. |
6. |
Cut out the bucket pattern, including the ghost arms. |
7. |
Make a slit at the center of each flapped square. The length of the slit should be the same as the length of the base of a ghost arm. |
8. |
Crease the bucket pattern along the joints as well as the flaps. |
9. |
Flip the bucket pattern over and draw a ghost's face on each of the two opposite squares without slits (and without side flaps). |
10. |
Apply glue or use double-sided tape on each of the 4 flaps. Remove the paper from the double-sided tape. |
11. |
Assemble the pattern into a cube shape by sticking each flap to the side of the adjacent square. |
12. |
Tape the flaps from inside to reinforce your bucket. |
13. |
Fold the base of each ghost arm to create a flap and insert this flap through the slit on the bucket. |
14. |
Tape each ghost arm flap from inside the bucket. |
15. |
Punch a hole on either side of the bucket, right above each ghost arm. |
16. |
Insert one end of a pipe cleaner on one of the holes and knot it securely in place |
17. |
String 4 to 5 beads along the pipe cleaner. |
18. |
Finish up with your ghost trick-or-treat bucket by fastening the other pipe cleaner end around the opposite hole. |
