1. |
Print out this dragon mask template on A4 or Letter size card stock. |
 |
2. |
Color the mask using any coloring or painting material. Color the dragon as you please or use some popular Chinese dragon color combinations such as red and yellow. You can do a quick image search in the web and see the variety and richness of dragon colors and designs used in dragon dances during the Chinese New Year festivities. |
 |
3. |
Continue coloring until you have covered the entire mask. You need not color inside the eye holes. |
 |
4. |
Cut out the mask. |
 |
5. |
Cut out the eye holes as well. |
 |
6. |
There are two little circles on either side of the mask for attaching an elastic band. Before punching a hole on each circle, you can place scotch tape over each hole, folding it all the way to the back of the mask. This will prevent the paper mask from tearing easily when worn. |
 |
7. |
Cut an elastic string to fit around your head. Knot the ends of the string on the mask's side holes. |
 |
8. |
Try on the mask, and if necessary, adjust the length of the string for a comfortable fit. |
 |
9. |
As an option, you can cut crepe paper strips and glue them at the back of the mask, right along the bottom edge.
Enjoy wearing your dragon mask! |
