2. | Color or paint the mask. You can color the mask to look like your favorite superhero.
*To prevent your mask from curling around the edges, add a minimal amount of water to paint, just enough to make it spreadable. |

You can create your own character by decorating the mask just the way you imagine the coolest superhero should look like!

You can also alter the shape of the mask templates by drawing around them before coloring them in. In this example, I've transformed a plain mask into an avian superhero.

Cut out the mask, including the eyeholes. Ask an adult to help cut out the eyeholes for you.

4. | Punch a pair of holes on either side of the mask. Cut a length of elastic string (mine is about 12 inches long) and tie the ends around the pair of holes at the sides of the mask.

5. | Try on your superhero mask. It should fit snugly but not too tight. Adjust the length of the elastic if necessary. Have fun wearing your superhero disguise! |

For a more durable superhero mask, cut out the paper template and trace around it on felt or fabric. Cut out the felt or fabric mask, including the eyeholes. You may sew on the ends of an elastic band on either side of the mask or you may attach an elastic string following Step 4 above. Glue or sew on additional decorations as desired. *Use fabric glue or tacky glue to glue on stuff onto fabric or felt. |
