Draw a straight or curved line along the bottom portion of your sketch paper. This will be the road where the vehicle puppet can move along. You can choose to have a straight road, a hilly road or an inclined one. |

Draw some background images. |

Color in your picture with paint and/or crayons. |

Make a slit along the road, leaving a 1.5 to 2 inch margin on both ends. |

Draw your favorite vehicle, color and cut it out. We also have a printable vehicle template that you might find useful.
*If you want to integrate shapes learning, cut out the vehicle parts from basics shapes and glue them together. |

Tape a craft stick or drinking straw at the back of the vehicle puppet. |

Make more vehicle puppets such as a car, bus, truck, or bicycle. |

To move the vehicle puppet along the picture, insert the puppet's handle through the slit so that the end sticks out from the bottom of the paper. This will allow you to hold and move the puppet along the length of the road. |

Besides learning about different kinds of vehicles, this craft can also be used as a visual in learning about movements such as forward/back, up/down, and stop/go. |
