Curly Ribbons

Make curly ribbons to decorate your art craft projects or use them to accent a gift-wrapped present.

Materials Needed

Young kids (3 to 8 years) should use child-safe scissors.
Watch out for this sign . It means an adult's help is needed for the particular step.

	1.	Cut a length of gift ribbon.
	2.	Hold one end of the ribbon against a scissor's blade while supporting it firmly with your thumb.
	3.	Pull the blade all the way down to the other end.
	4.	Release the ribbon to reveal the curls.
	5.	If you want to make fine ribbon curls, cut fringes on one end of a length of ribbon.
	6.	Split the fringes apart, leaving around a 1 to 1.5 inch margin on the other end.
	7.	Curl each fringe as you did in Steps 2 and 3.
	8.	You've just made small multiple curls.
