Step 1 Standing Paper Dinosaurs craft 1. Print out any of these dinosaur sets on A4 or Letter size card stock:
  • Cretaceous dinosaurs - Ankylosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Spinosaurus, Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus rex (or T. rex)
  • Jurassic dinosaurs - Allosaurus, Archeopteryx, Brachiosaurus, Camarasaurus, Stegosaurus
Step 2 Standing Paper Dinosaurs craft 2. Print out the bases and stands as well.
Step 3 Standing Paper Dinosaurs craft 3. Color or paint the dinosaurs. Though no one really knows what the real color of dinosaurs were, some think that most of them probably came in shades of brown, green, or gray. These colors would've help them blend in with their environment. Others, however, believe that dinosaurs could have come in bright colors such as purple, orange, yellow, and red—vivid colors that help attract mates. Skin patterns such as stripes or spots could have also provided more camouflage. Draw some patterns on your dinosaurs, if you like.

Step 4 Standing Paper Dinosaurs craft 4. Feathered dinosaurs offer a rather different story. Recent discoveries of feathers found in some dinosaur fossils have been shown to contain color pigments. The Archaeopteryx, for instance, has been found to have black feathers. More information about this can be read in this article.
Step 5 Standing Paper Dinosaurs craft 5. We hope that the dinosaur tidbits that we have shared above can help you decide the colors for your dinosaurs. You can, however, be as imaginative with the colors and skin patterns as you want to be.
Step 6 Standing Paper Dinosaurs craft Ask for an adult's help.6. Once finished coloring all the dinosaurs, cut each one out.

*Younger kids may need adult help when cutting out some of the dinosaurs with intricate details.
Step 7 Standing Paper Dinosaurs craft 7. Cut out the bases and stands as well.
Step 8 Standing Paper Dinosaurs craft 8. Bend each stand in the middle and unfold to come up with a V-shaped piece.
Step 9 Standing Paper Dinosaurs craft 9. Each base and stand has a pair of dotted lines close to the edges. Make a slit along these dotted lines.
Step 10 Standing Paper Dinosaurs craft 10. Each base has a dinosaur's name on it. Glue each dinosaur onto the designated base, positioning it as close to the bottom edge as possible and keeping clear of the slits that you made in the previous step.
Step 11 Standing Paper Dinosaurs craft 11. Pick out the stand that matches the dinosaur you are working on. Interlock the slits on the base with those of the stand.
Step 12 Standing Paper Dinosaurs craft 12. The interlocked base and stand will allow the paper dinosaur to stand.
Step 13 Standing Paper Dinosaurs craft 13. Once you have positioned all the stands, your dinosaurs are all ready for a Jurassic adventure!
