Stitched Heart Envelope

Make a charming heart-shaped envelope to hold Valentine notes. The lacing around the heart envelope and the bow at the center are great fine motor activities for young kids.

  • Colored pencils or markers
  • String or ribbon

Steps

Step 1 Stitched Heart Envelope craft 1. To make a pair of identical hearts, fold an A4 size, US Letter, or any rectangular paper in half.

*Instead of doing Steps 1 to 5, you can also print out two copies of the large heart (Set 4) from these heart templates. Cut out each heart.

*Placing some paper clips along the edges will help hold the hearts in place while you punch holes.
Step 8 Stitched Heart Envelope craft 8. Cut a long length of ribbon or string. Start lacing on the hole closest to the heart's top center. Lace the ribbon over and under the holes.

Step 10 Stitched Heart Envelope craft 10. Write a Valentine note and fold the paper into a size that fits inside the heart. Place the note in between the pair of hearts.

Step 12 Stitched Heart Envelope craft 12. Tie the excess length of ribbon into a bow. Decorate, draw, or write a short Valentine greeting on the front of your heart envelope. You can even glue on a photo at the center.

Your folded Valentine note is safely tucked inside your beautiful heart envelope. Whoever opens it will have to carefully unlace the ribbon to read the message inside.
