1Prepare the boxes.

Find boxes to turn into your living room's sofa and chairs. Square ones are great for the chairs and a bigger rectangular box is needed for the sofa. Scout for smaller boxes for all the of seat's back rest. Tape any open flaps on each of the boxes.

2Gift-wrap the boxes.

Gift-wrap the boxes. Match the colors of the chairs with the rug and other furniture you plan to add.

3Glue the boxes together.

Assemble the chairs by gluing the matching boxes together.

4Create a base.

Cut poster board to a size large enough to be the living room's base.

5Make a rug.

Cut a slightly smaller rectangle from gift wrap paper to make a rug. Glue this at the center of the base.

6Glue the chairs.

Glue the sofa and chairs onto the base.

7Trim and paint 3 paper cups.

Trim three small paper cups to a height of 2½ inches. One will be made into the base of your coffee table and the other two will be turned into plant pots. Paint them with colors that compliment the color scheme of your living room.

8Glue one paper cup.

Glue one of the painted paper cups in the middle of the living room set. This is the base of your coffee table.

9Make a coffee table.

Coffee tables can be round, square or rectangular. Cut your preferred shape on construction paper or cardstock. Glue the shape on top of the paper cup base.

10Create potted plants.

Fill the two remaining painted paper cups with sand or clay. Create leaves by cutting long leaf shapes from green construction paper. Plant the leaves into the sand.

Green feathers also look pretty as ornamental plants. See the photo in the next step.

11Add some flowers.

Make some flowers by cutting flower shapes out of craft foam or construction paper. You can also use ready-made craft foam flowers or fabric flowers.

Glue a green drinking straw or pipe cleaner at the back of each flower. Plant each stemmed flower at the center of the pot. Place the pots on both sides of the sofa.

12Craft some square pillows.

To make throw pillows, cut a pair of small squares from craft foam. Glue the two squares along three sides using white glue or hot glue.

13Decorate the pillows.

Decorate one side of each pillow by drawing patterns with markers or puffy paint. You can also add texture by gluing some lace, small craft foam shapes or tiny beads.

14Fill the pillows.

Once the glue dries, stuff the pillows with cotton. Do not overstuff to avoid the seams from opening. Seal the fourth side with white glue or hot glue.
