Rubber Band Dyed Easter Eggs
Wrap hard boiled eggs with rubber bands before dipping in dye to come up with brightly-colored Easter eggs with lovely streaks.

- Hard boiled eggs
- Rubber bands
- White vinegar
- Food coloring
- Bowls or cups
STEPS
1 Boil some eggs.
Cook eggs until they are hard boiled. Let them cool and pat them dry.
2 Prepare some rubber bands.
Gather 10-12 rubber bands.
3 Wrap around the center of the egg.
Carefully wrap the bunch of rubber bands around the center of the egg.
4 Move one rubber band.
Next, gently move one rubber band so that it is somewhat perpendicular to the bunch.
5 Arrange the other rubber bands.
Move the rest of the rubber bands so that they wrap the egg like a net.
6 Wrap more eggs.
Wrap more eggs as described in Steps 2 to 5.
7 Make the egg dye.
In a cup or bowl, mix ¾ cup warm water, 1 tablespoon white vinegar and around 10 drops of food coloring.
8 Put the egg into the dye.
Place the rubber band-wrapped egg into the dye, making sure it is fully submerged. Allow the egg to sit for at least 5 minutes. The longer it stays there, the deeper the color will be.
9 Remove the egg.
Remove the egg from the dye and let it air dry.
10 Remove the rubber bands.
Once dry, carefully remove the rubber bands to reveal a nice streaked pattern on the egg.
This completes the process for making a single-colored rubber band dyed egg. If you want an egg with two or more colors, continue with the steps below.
11 Wrap the egg again.
Wrap the egg again with rubber bands as shown in Steps 2 to 5.
12 Make another color of egg dye.
Using a different color of food coloring, mix a second batch of egg dye. Just as described in Step 7, combine ¾ cup warm water, 1 tablespoon white vinegar and around 10 drops of food coloring.
13 Place the egg in the dye.
Place the egg into the dye mixture, keeping it submerged for at least 5 minutes.
14 Remove the egg.
Remove the egg from the dye and let it dry. Once dry, remove the rubber bands. Your egg is now an entirely different color with two colors of streaks.
15 Make more!
