Santa Cone Hat
Make a cone-shaped Santa Claus hat out of construction paper and cotton.

- Red construction paper (12" x 18")
- Scissors
- Glue
- Compass or string
- Stapler
- Cotton
STEPS
1Make a half-circle.
Draw and cut out a half-circle with a radius of 9-10 inches (diameter 18-20 inches) on red construction paper.
2Create a cone.
Form the half-circle into a cone. Make the base as wide as you can or wide enough to fit on your head. See details on making a cone hat.
If you don't mind a smaller hat, you can print out this birthday hat template on A4 or Letter size red cardstock. Cut out the template and apply glue on the tab area. Form the template into a cone by bringing the hat's opposite straight edge over the tab area. Press to glue in place.
3Glue cotton at the base.
Glue cotton all around the base of the cone.
4Glue cotton at the tip.
Form a small chunk of cotton into a ball. Glue this at the tip of the cone hat.
5Wear the hat.
Once the glue dries, wear your Santa cone hat.
If the hat is slightly small for your head, create a chin strap. Simply punch a pair of opposite holes near the bottom edge of the hat. Attach the ends of an elastic string.
