1 Mark the location of the legs.

Find a toilet paper roll to make into the reindeer's body.

Mark the location of the legs by drawing a pair of lines, each about ¼" from the end of the TP roll. The lines should span half of the TP roll's circumference.

2 Make a pair of slits.

Make a slit following each line.

3 Create a pair of legs.

Create a pair of legs following these steps:

4 Make a second pair of legs.

Create an identical piece to make a second pair of legs.

5 Apply glue.

Apply glue along the top curved edge of a pair of cardboard legs.

6 Attach a pair of legs to the TP roll.

Carefully insert the round section of the cardboard legs through one slit on the TP roll. Push it in until the curved edges are touching the inside walls of the TP roll.

7 Attach the second pair of legs.

Similarly glue the second pair of legs to the opposite slit on the TP roll.

With both pairs of legs in place, your TP reindeer should be able to stand upright. The holes on the TP roll are also nicely covered by the top section of the cardboard legs.

8 Draw the reindeer's head.

With the size of the TP roll body in mind, draw a reindeer's head on cardboard or construction paper.

Start out with a basic shape like an oval or an upside down trapezoid. Draw a pair of ears on top and a pair of branching antlers in between the ears.

9 Attach the head.

Cut out the reindeer's head. Glue it at the top edge of one TP roll end. White glue will do the job but will take some time to dry. For a quicker drying time, use a glue gun.

10 Make a tail.

Create a tail by cutting out a a small triangle from cardboard or construction paper. Fold a small portion of the base to make a bottom tab.

Glue the tail's bottom tab on the inside of the TP roll end opposite the head.

11 Paint the reindeer.

Paint your reindeer once the glue dries. For an evenly-colored reindeer, it is good to paint with white paint as a first layer. Paint the entire reindeer with white acrylic paint.

Once the white paint dries, paint with the final colors of the reindeer. Paint the reindeer with brown acrylic or poster paint. Use a darker shade of brown to paint the antlers and hooves.

12 Add the details.

After the paint dries, glue a pair of wiggle eyes and a pompom nose.

Add some fun details like a scarf or a hat. I made a scarf by tying a length of ribbon around my reindeer's neck.
