Colored Pasta
Learn how to color pasta using food coloring in a few easy steps. Use the colored pasta for your various arts and crafts projects.
Supplies Needed
- Uncooked pasta (macaroni, penne, ribbon, or any shape)
- Food coloring
- Ziplock bags or plastic bags
STEPS
1 Place pasta in plastic bags.
Divide pasta into batches by placing them in ziplock bags or plastic bags.
2 Add food coloring.
Add several drops of food coloring into a bag of pasta.
3 Seal the bag.
Seal the bag properly.
4 Shake the bag.
Shake the bag until the pasta is evenly-colored. If you think the hue is not strong enough, you can add a few more drops of food coloring and shake again.
5 Make other colors of pasta.
Repeat the process for the remaining batches of pasta with other colors of food coloring.
Let the colored pasta absorb the pigment by leaving it inside the plastic bags for at least 30 minutes.
6 Let the pasta dry.
Spread out the colored pasta on paper to dry. It may take several hours to dry completely.
7 Use the colored pasta.
Once dry, you can use the colored pasta for craft projects and various learning activities.
